Haven't been to a doctor in years. Got a rec and met the doc - actually "Physician's assistant". I don't recall ever using one before (always used an M.D.)- but since I was just in need of a physical that seemed fine. I mean, they weren't going to practice surgery on me. From what I've heard since, they are kind of in-between a nurse and a doctor, and tend to spend more time actually listening to you.

Got to wear the gown, coughed, got felt up, coughed some more. She told me that they didn't screen the prostate till age 50. "Something to look forward to," I joked. She laughed. I'm sure it wasn't her favorite thing either.

She sent me to get x-rays taken of my left knee for my increasing knee pain, from hanging the snowboard off my left foot on the lift, exacerbated by dragging my kneecap on pavement during my motorcycle crash. Tomorrow I get my blood test - lipids and such. Blood pressure is normal. Have to fast 12 hrs prior, then the series of blood letting begins.

Got a tetanus shot (since I know it's been over ten years) and a Hep B shot. I hardly felt the tetanus, but the Hep B burned like a motherfucker. The next day it was the opposite: Hep B settled down, Tetanus felt like I had been punched - hard.

Athena's off to L.A. for something called "Release the bats" the title of which I find kinda funny. Meeting her friend Toria, of the 15inch mohawk. I play bachelor - catch up on projects, go out with the guys.

I'm reading this book right now: Armed Madhouse , about how the Iraq War was planned prior to the Sept. 11th attacks, how the election was stolen, that it was really about oil - Saudi Arabian oil. Wild conspiracy-theory-laden stuff (and probably all true). He lays it out with sources. The author, Greg Palast, is a BBC investigative reporter and it a funny in a super tragic sort of way. A natural disaster sort of way - he has a black humor to his reportage that you laugh at, then think about, then get depressed, then angry. Highly recommended. Czechit.
